They say either clenching your buttocks together or having a tack in your shoe are the two main ways to pass a lie detector test but neither is fool-proof. The alleged technique is to have the tack under your toes and when lying press down on the tack which somehow gives off a different reading - BUT ONLY WHEN LYING - if you press down non-stop, firstly the investigator will probably start wondering about the small pool of blood collecting around your foot and also wonder why the readings will be all over the place. This is why some investigators insist doing tests with the subject’s shoes off or having their feet on a pressure sensitive pad. The same technique applies to the clenching your butt technique, squeeze when lying. The same goes that some investigators insist the subject sit on a pressure sensitive pad, etc. but that’s fairly unusual. As I said, I don’t know if either of these techniques work - this is just stuff I have heard from people who have undergone lie detector tests and passed them whilst lying. Hope it’s been some help anyways.

I can not tell you about a DVD, but I can tell you that there are several types of locks. You do not use a knot because you have to be able to slip the line off quickly. Some locks have their own ropes, they get very slimey , you do need gloves. Some locks have a cable, again gloves are needed, you slip the rope behind the cable and slide up or down. Some have a metal pipe that you slip the rope behind and hold both ends. If you have to go around a fixture at the top of the lock you have to be ready to release at the bottom, so no knots. Protect the boat with many old fenders. have a boat hook available for fending off. We have travel all of the Erie Canal and Oswego Canal, and found different locks in different areas. There is a video somewhere for the Erie, because we are in it.

Tide is concentrated so you should be or could be using less. When I was growing up we’d use Duz or Oxydol but I don’t know if they are on the market anymore or not. You sure can put a lot of stuff in one washer, just not a lot of heavy stuff so you “can” get your money’s worth. But really lots of times I wash clothes in the automatic washer and then bring my stuff home and hang it on hangers above my tub on one of those spring poles just so I don’t have to spend my money on the automatic dryer. The automatic dryer shortens the life of the elastic. Sometimes I even wash clothes in the tub and then hang them on hangers to dry. It takes about 24 hours to dry. From what I know Tide comes in two fragrances, and additionally one has some bleaching agent in it and another has just soap. These days I get the concentrated one with just soap so I can use it as soap for other things. (I don’t need everything bleached). In a pinch you can wash out things with your dishwashing detergent. And you don’t need to buy antibactrial soap, soap is soap and cleans just the same. Maybe you were talking about Ivory Snow (or some such) for babies that are alergic to other soaps.

No, not bad at all. Yes, for some birds it might be easier to be left at home and have someone drop by once a day to feed and water him. But I think a bird who is social will be just fine at a friends house (or where ever you decide is fit to keep him) for a few days, especially if he has his “safe zone” i.e. his kept in his own cage while at your friends. And if he does get abit stressed your friend can always cover his cage with a towel and keep him in a quiet room while he settles down. Also bring his regular food, and veggies or whatever his regular routine is at your house. Also it might be nice to have who ever you decide to leave your “little buddy” with to come over atleast once and meet your bird, if they havent already, that way he’ll atleast be alittle familiar with that person.

I like an approach where I don’t have to pressure or push my child. I think it really helps boys to pee standing up so they can see what is happening and connect the sensations.
What worked for me was The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com I started by just setting it at the toilet. My kids immediately climbed up on the stool and discovered that they could safely and securely use the toilet. This got them very interested in using the toilet and they were potty trained very quickly. Kids like to use what they know mommy and daddy use.
I like that I don’t have to double the steps of potty training by training them first in a potty and then training them to stop using a potty. And not dumping and cleaning a potty each time is great. The best thing is that kids use it for years. I hope this helps you

See a website. The internet is a quick, convenient, private and easy way to access all sorts of information. For peer-to-peer advice, one of the best sites out there is Girland (see link), notably the Problem Pages. Signing up is required to post a problem, but free and well worth it. Although you choose a user name when signing up, you can post any problems anonymously and generally receive quick replies (within a few minutes) by a large base of international members. For more professional advice, Go Ask Alice (see link) is highly recommended, and extremely user-friendly; for any form of teenage advice, I would advise you to pay it a visit.
Find a ‘parallel personality.’ Identify one of your friends or relatives as a ‘parallel’ to the boy you are dating or considering: For instance, if you are dating a sixteen-year-old boy, seek out your closest sixteen-year-old male friend, or even your sixteen-year-old male cousin! Even better is if you can match their interests and components of their personalities. Gain an insider’s view; this will also help you to empathize in possible future disputes between your boy and you.
Speak to his friends. Do this with caution. Remember that his friends’ loyalties lie with him, so they will protect his reputation and are unlikely to impart much substantial knowledge. Don’t outright announce your intentions to them, and don’t judge him too harshly on how he acts around them. They are useful for limited information and necessities, such as the date of his birthday and which sport he enjoys, but never take his friends’ perspectives as 100% real.

When I first saw you write “worst/best thing”, it made me think that they are often the same thing. I turning point or even a crisis, that changes us — or we take it upon ourselves to make changes — that make our lives bigger and us better persons.
I had a heart attack, and quadruple bypass surgery, in April, and I was only 44. Now, this worst thing that happened to me has forced me to re-examine my life, and how I have lived it — the heart attack and the surgery and the recovery was the easy part! I know already that I will look back and be able to say the heart attack and surgery was the best thing that ever happened to me, because I took it as a chance to look at my life and strive to improve it, which I probably wouldn’t if it hadn’t happened.

Without a doubt having 24 hour a day news channels do bring sensitive issues to the forefront, but I think after hearing about them, over and over again, the public then begins to tune them out, and it actually has the reverse affect, and desensitizes the public about the issue. For instance, 911 and the towers, no matter where you turned after the incident, you saw the same horrific photos, and the same talking heads. After about 5 days of it, people where tired of it, and no longer wanted to hear about the towers falling. Today, most of the public although aware of what happens, are overlooking that awful event, and want to know why are we in Iraq, they have been desensitized to the point that they no longer remember the horror that went with that particular day.
